The glorious end of “Iran Expo 2025”; a new leap in non-oil trade and attracting foreign capital

Exhibition News – Tehran, May 12, 2025  — The seventh edition of the Iran Expo 2025 International Exhibition trade today with a closing ceremony at the Permanent Exhibition Center in Tehran. The five-day event (May 28-29) brought together trade representatives frommore than 110 countries and hundreds of leading domestic companies, creating unprecedented optimism about the future of non-oil exports and attracting foreign investment in Iran.

A platform for global interaction

Holding the exhibition under the slogan “A Safe and Beautiful Iran,”  it provided  an exceptional opportunity to introduce Iran’s industrial, technological, and agricultural capabilities to  3,500 foreign trade representatives . Face-to-face negotiations and the conclusion of dozens of export memorandums of understanding  in areas such as advanced industries, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and digital innovation were testament to Iran’s efforts to diversify its economy beyond its dependence on oil.

Closing ceremony with the presence of prominent figures

Ebrahim Sheikh, Deputy Minister of Public Industries of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, emphasized the role of the exhibition in  “rebuilding global confidence in Iran’s economic capacity ,” calling the event a turning point in the development of international cooperation. Amir Roshanbakhsh, Deputy Director of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, also referred to Iran Expo as  “a bridge to the untapped markets of Asia, Africa, and Latin America.” Leading Iranian companies in fields such as medicine, automobiles, and nanotechnology were honored  in this section .

Strategic achievements and global image

Organizers credited the event with  improving Iran’s image as a safe investment destination  . The strong presence of delegations from China, Russia, Turkey, and some Gulf Cooperation Council countries was a sign of a desire for joint cooperation and improved regional relations. Although participation from European and Latin American companies was weaker, their presence indicated a cautious willingness to re-engage in light of recent diplomatic developments.

Future outlook

Majid Takbiri, head of the Iran Expo organizing committee, announced extensive plans for the 2026 edition, saying,  “The future focus will be on attracting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.”  He noted that the main achievement of the event  is “transforming Iran’s economic resilience into operational partnerships  . ”

The future of non-oil trade

With non-oil exports accounting for 32% of Iran’s GDP in 1403, Iran Expo 2025 has established itself as a solid pillar of the country’s economic strategy. Now, attention is focused on the impact of this event on Iran’s position in the global trade arena.
