Exhibition Analytical News – During the 32nd Iran Agrofood International Exhibition, Sedif Beikzadeh, CEO of Iran International Exhibitions Joint Stock Company, met and discussed with “Marius Akanbong”, Ambassador of Ghana to Tehran. The meeting emphasized strengthening exhibition and trade relations between the two countries and utilizing common capacities in the fields of agriculture, technology and medicine.

In this meeting, which was held with the aim of expanding bilateral cooperation, the Ghanaian ambassador, referring to the historical friendly relations between Iran and Ghana, called for the development of exhibition relations as a platform for increasing trade interactions. He stated: “Exhibition relations will not only help grow bilateral trade, but Ghana’s neighboring countries in West Africa will also benefit from the opportunities created.” These statements indicate Iran’s key role as an exhibition hub in the region and Ghana’s potential to become Iran’s trade gateway in Africa.

On the other hand, Sedif Beikzadeh, welcoming the Ghanaian ambassador’s suggestions, considered the exhibitions “an effective bridge for the development of economic exchanges” and added: “Given Ghana’s capacities in the agricultural and mining sectors, we can provide the basis for Ghanaian companies to participate in specialized exhibitions in Iran, as well as for the active participation of Iranian businesses in the Ghanaian market.” He pointed out that more than 70 exhibition events are held annually in Tehran, which provides an exceptional opportunity for Ghanaian companies to cooperate in various fields such as technology, medicine, and energy.

Analysis of the importance of exhibition cooperation:
International exhibitions, as a strategic tool in trade development, provide the opportunity to introduce products, attract investment, and create business networks. For Iran, cooperation with Ghana—which, with its rich natural resources and strategic geographical location in West Africa—can facilitate access to the 300 million-person market of the ECOWAS region. On the other hand, the presence of Iranian companies in Ghana can also accelerate the transfer of new technologies in areas such as agriculture and medicine.

Major areas of cooperation:
1. Agriculture and food industry: Given the focus of the Agrofood exhibition, cooperation in the field of agricultural machinery, food processing and related technical knowledge is conceivable.
2. Technology and energy: Iran can participate in the development of digital infrastructure and renewable energy in Ghana.
3. Medicine and pharmaceuticals: Given Iran’s experience in producing generic drugs and affordable medical equipment, this area can respond to Ghana’s urgent needs.

Conclusion:
This dialogue is a positive step towards realizing the economic goals of the “Looking to Africa Policy” in Iran. If the agreements reached are converted into operational plans, they will not only increase the volume of trade between the two countries, but also establish Iran as a reliable partner in the eyes of African countries. In the meantime, the role of specialized exhibitions as a catalyst for international cooperation is undeniable.
