Exhibition News – The first international planning meeting for Expo 2027 Belgrade was held in the Serbian capital with the participation of representatives from 140 countries, including a high-level Iranian delegation led by Sedif Beikzadeh , CEO of Iran International Exhibitions Joint Stock Company. The event, dubbed the largest diplomatic gathering in Serbia’s history, is an important step towards coordinating the content and operations of the future specialized exhibition, which will open in May 2027 with the slogan “Games for Humanity: Sports and Music for All.”

1. Active presence of Iranian representatives :

An Iranian delegation consisting of Sedif Beykzadeh (CEO of Iran International Exhibitions) and Mohammad Mehdi Tondgoyan (Chairman of the Board of Directors) participated in this two-day summit.

On the sidelines of the meeting, a meeting was held with Mehdi Abadi , the temporary chargé d’affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Belgrade, and the necessary coordination for Iran’s strong presence by utilizing its cultural, economic, and technological capacities was emphasized.

Expo 2027 content programs, including the themes of sports, music, and their connection to human development , were reviewed in the form of specialized sessions.

The summit was held under the auspices of the Bureau of World Expos (BIE) and outlined a common roadmap for participating countries.

With the participation of 112 countries and international organizations (including Iran) so far, the Belgrade Expo has become one of the most extensive diplomatic events in the region.

Beikzadeh, who was appointed as the acting director of Iran’s international exhibitions by the decree of the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade in February 2024 , has a background in coordinating international events. With him at the helm, Iran’s pavilion at Expo 2027 is expected to showcase the country’s technological and cultural achievements .
