Analytical report of the strategic meeting on nanotechnology development: International exhibitions, the driving force of Iran’s advanced industries

نشست راهبردی توسعه فناوری نانو - Nanotechnology Development Strategic Meeting

نشست راهبردی توسعه فناوری نانو - Nanotechnology Development Strategic Meeting

Iran exhibition news  Tehran – In a joint meeting  between Sedif Beikzadeh , CEO of Iran International Exhibitions Joint Stock Company , and  Emad Ahmadvand , Head of the Special Center for Nanotechnology Development , and with the presence of senior managers of the two institutions, the key role of exhibitions in  industrial transformation through advanced technologies  was emphasized. This strategic dialogue, which aime to accelerate the penetration of nano and micro technology in the value chain of national industries  , approved several operational programs for 1404.

Key points of the cooperation agreement

1.  Launching a permanent nano-industry exhibition platform

  • Designating  a special hall for advanced technologies  in all specialized industrial exhibitions

  • Creating  a technology transfer corridor  between 4,000 active nanotechnology companies and target industries (petrochemical, textile, medical, and energy)

2.  Nanoproduct export support program

  • Providing  a 40% discount on booth construction  for knowledge-based companies at international exhibitions

  • Launching  a joint Iran Nano pavilion  at 5 prestigious global exhibitions including:

    • Hannover Industrial  ( Germany )

    • Nanotech Expo  (Japan)

    • China Nano  (Shanghai)

3.  Evolution in specialized events

  • Holding  a  seasonal nano value chain exhibition with the presence of downstream industries

  • Developing  a network of exhibition laboratories  for immediate testing of nano products

Transformative statistics of the nano industry

According to the Nano Headquarters report:

Index Statistics Growth compared to 2014
Number of active companies 4,100 companies 18%
Domestic market value 62,000 billion Tomans 35%
Export share $1.2 billion 40%
Number of commercialized products 850 products 22%

Global achievements and future plans

  • Iran ranks fourth in the world  in publishing nano articles (Web of Science database)

  • Seventh place in the world  in nanotechnology patents (WIPO)

  • Targeting 2025:

    • Reaching  a 2% share of the global nano market  (equivalent to $5 billion)

    • Development of  100 nano-based industrial production lines  in strategic industries

The role of exhibitions in the value chain

Referring to the holding of  75 exhibition events annually  in Tehran, Bikzadeh described four key mechanisms:
1.  Accelerating technology absorption:  Reducing the time to conclude industry-technology contracts by 70 percent through  instant negotiation stations
2.  Production line simulation:  Setting up  exhibition assembly lines  to prove the performance of nano-products on an industrial scale
3.  Global market monitoring:  Analyzing international trends through  an intelligent exhibition monitoring system
4.  Export empowerment:  Training  in international standards ISO/TS 80004  in side workshops

Implementation of joint projects in November 1404

1.  Strategic synchronicity of two events:

  • 16th International Nanotechnology Exhibition  (November 1-5)

  • The 25th Tehran Industry Exhibition  in adjacent halls

  • Creating  a joint technology-industry corridor  with 200 interactive stations

2.  Unveiling major achievements:

  • Petrochemical nanocatalysts  with 40% efficiency increase

  •  FDA-approved nano-burn-resistant dressings

  • Industrial nanofiber filters  to reduce energy consumption by 90 percent

3.  Specialized training programs:

  • Nanotechnology Commercialization Courses   with Bilingual Certificates

  • Product standardization workshops   in accordance with European requirements (REACH)

Prospects for cooperation

Ahmadvand emphasized:

“Cooperation with international exhibitions  will reduce the time for technology penetration in heavy industries from 5 years to 18 months . The large-scale  nanotechnology project of 50 production lines in the automotive and energy industries  will be implemented by 2025 with the support of this platform.”

Beikzadeh also added:

“The Tehran Exhibition Site   will be  the first pilot of a high-tech special economic zone that will grant customs and tax exemptions  for the import of nano- equipment .”

Exhibition visit time:
November 11 to 14, 2025 | 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Location:
Permanent Site of Tehran International Exhibitions
