Exhibition News – Tehran – In a symbolic move to strengthen institutional cooperation and accelerate the development of the country’s exhibition industry , the new board of directors of the Iranian Association of International Exhibition Organizers met with Sedif Beikzadeh, CEO of the Islamic Republic of Iran International Exhibitions Joint Stock Company , for a strategic meeting and discussion.
This meeting, which was held on the eve of the start of the association’s new management period, provided an opportunity to explain common perspectives, examine the challenges ahead, and develop coordinated strategies to enhance Iran’s position on the global map of the exhibition industry.
The beginning of a new chapter of cooperation on the board of directors
At the beginning of the meeting, Beikzadeh congratulated the new members of the association’s board of directors and emphasized the unique role of this institution in bringing together private sector activists and enhancing the capacities of this industry. He appreciated the efforts and achievements of the previous board of directors and noted: “The Association of International Exhibition Organizers, as a powerful arm and representative of the private sector, has always played an effective role in advancing the macro goals of the country’s exhibition industry. Continuation and deepening of this cooperation is essential to overcome current challenges and capture new opportunities.”
These statements reflect the deep understanding of the Exhibitions Joint Stock Company, as the main custodian of the country’s exhibition infrastructure, of the importance of the active and organized participation of the private sector in the design and implementation of macro policies.
Reflecting the concerns of the private sector
Following the meeting, the new board members of the association, representing the broader community of international exhibition organizers, outlined the most important concerns and issues facing the sector. The issues raised generally revolved around the following key themes:
-
Facilitation and removal of administrative obstacles: Emphasis on the need to facilitate licensing processes and inter-agency coordination to hold exhibition events as smoothly and with the highest quality.
-
The need for standardization: The need to develop and implement unified standards in the quality of exhibition organization, services provided to exhibitors and visitors, and security and safety procedures.
-
Promoting international marketing: The need to design and implement joint and targeted international campaigns to attract more quality foreign visitors and exhibitors and promote the Iran Expo brand in the region and the world.
-
Innovation and Technology : The need to utilize digital technologies and hold hybrid events (a combination of in-person and virtual) to increase the accessibility and longevity of exhibitions.
The members of the association’s board of directors emphasized that resolving these issues will only be possible through closer, continuous, and structured interaction and cooperation between the association (as a representative of the private sector) and the Exhibitions Joint Stock Company (as a government trustee).
Welcome and promise of mutual cooperation
The CEO of the International Exhibitions Joint Stock Company, sincerely welcoming the constructive views and suggestions of the association’s board of directors, emphasized the company’s determination to accompany and cooperate with the private sector. Stating that “the path to sustainable and balanced development of the exhibition industry passes through synergy and active participation of all stakeholders,” Beikzadeh expressed hope that with the beginning of this new management period, a new chapter of bilateral cooperation will begin to smooth the path of growth of this key industry.
Conclusion and future outlook
The recent meeting can be considered a positive turning point in the relations between the main institutions governing the Iranian exhibition industry. This constructive dialogue shows that both sides have come to a common understanding that working in parallel and in separate silos does not meet the complex and growing needs of the international market.
This meeting is expected to be a prelude to the formation of joint specialized working groups, the development of short-term and long-term operational plans, and ultimately, the creation of an integrated, dynamic, and competitive ecosystem in Iran’s exhibition industry. Success in this direction will not only boost related businesses, but will also significantly increase Iran’s share of the regional trade and economic diplomacy pie .
